Nankin Flight of Eagles is a community art project designed to bring beautiful sculpture art to Westland by engaging the community through partnerships with residents, businesses and artists.
The art sculptures will be on display in summer 2026 for 4 months, after which they will be auctioned off to raise money to support and grow the arts and culture in Westland.
Anyone (individual or group) interested in painting an eagle can submit a design. Designs approved by our arts council will be shown to sponsors to select the one they prefer. If your art is selected, you will receive an honorarium based on the eagle you have designed. (some restrictions apply). Remember this is community engagement--consider submitting a design! Click here for more information.
People, businesses, groups or organizations can be a sponsor by commissioning an eagle. You may find your own artist and submit artwork or we will bring you together with artists and you may pick which artwork you prefer. Sponsors receive many promotional and marketing opportunities as well as naming rights for their eagle. Westland Arts Foundation maintains ownership until eagles are purchased prior to or at auction in fall 2026. Click here for more information on all the levels of sponsorship.
Throughout 2025 and 2026, Westland Arts Foundation will be present in the Westland community. Residents and businesses will have many opportunities to engage or help with this project. We look forward to seeing you. If you have questions for us, please do not hesitate to ask.
